Rep. Turner’s Reaction to the House Democrat Health Care Bill

U.S. Representative Mike Turner today issued the following statement responding to the health care reform bill released today:
“As I review the nearly 2,000 page health care bill released today by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, my concerns remain the same.  This legislation will significantly affect nearly every American family, small businesses, and millions of seniors, especially in Ohio, who are certain to be impacted by the $500 billion in cuts to Medicare, including $156 billion in Medicare Advantage cuts.
“I agree that the current system must be reformed.  However, if Speaker Pelosi is serious about health care reform, she should start with simple, mutually agreeable principles rather than trying to force through sweeping, costly legislation that will likely result in negative consequences for all Americans.”
