An editorial from the Wilmington News Journal:
The Wilmington Air Park would be an ideal location for testing and development of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). We applaud U.S. Rep. Michael Turner’s efforts to secure the program for the air park. He has introduced legislation encouraging the U.S. Department of Defense to work with the U.S. Air Force and the Federal Aviation Administration to develop procedures to safely integrate UAVs, also known as drones, into domestic airspace. Turner’s legislation directs the Secretary of Defense to review three possible locations in southwest Ohio for the testing and development program, including the Wilmington Air Park and the Buckeye and Brush Creek military operating areas. The House Armed Services Committee has approved Turner’s legislation for the 2011 National Defense Authorization Act. (More)
